Maybe we are starting the obvious, but we know that Canadians like to have fun too (can you say “understatement”?). The good news is that almost all of the great stuff on the eFamilyFun website can be shipped to Canada ( chemicals are restricted). In fact, over 8 percent of the traffic on our site is from Canada, so we have become experts in all aspects of getting our inventory to your Canadian doorstep. First things first: Our toll free number works in Canada too. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call at 1-877-358-5579 and we will give you the same great service that we give your American cousins. Now the particulars:
1) Most of our items ship duty free into Canada, but there are a few exceptions. After making your selection, please contact us about your item(s) to determine the specific duty status. Some we will know as a matter of course, others we will need to check with our broker and get back to you. You can contact us at 1-877-358-5579 or Canada@efamilyfun.com and we will reply promptly.
2) Our free shipping offers do not extend into Canada, but there is typically only a nominal surcharge for shipment into most Canadian metropolitan areas. Please contact us at 1-877-358-5579 or Canada@efamilyfun.com so we can determine the appropriate up charge for your selected items.
3) Although most items are duty free, there are still cross border requirements for paper work to be filed. These charges are based on several flat fees. For larger items that ship by truck, we have combined these fees into one total flat fee of usd 87.00 . For smaller items that ship via UPS, these fees are levied via UPS and will vary based on the value of your shipment. UPS will collect these fees directly from you PRIOR to delivery.The breakdown of fees charged by UPS can be seen here subject to change without notice. Whether by truck or UPS, all of the fees from our perspective are just passthrough, so please dont hate us!
4) The last item is everyone’s favorite; TAXES. There is a general vat tax and then there are different provincial taxes. These should be known to you and will be the same as what you would pay irrespective of the origin or seller. These can be seen here in detail, subject to change without notice. In keeping with Canadian law, we need to collect these taxes as part of the sale on large items that ship by truck. For smaller items, UPS will collect prior to delivery. Taxes are calculated against your pre tax subtotal. Since our site can not calculate the different provincial taxes, we will need to take all Canadian orders by telephone.
5) To summarize : For truck shipments we will provide you with one price that will include your item(s), duty paid ( if any) , any associated freight premium , customs clearance fees and taxes paid. For package goods that ship via UPS we will give you a price that includes your item(s) and the associated shiping cost. Duties (if any) taxes and customs clearance will be sperately levied by UPS and will be due to THEM prior to delivery.
